Dear Zindagi

When our body is not well, we visit a doctor to help us recover. When we have an issue with our mind, why do we hesitate to do the same? Dear Zindagi, Indian cinema’s first story based on psychotherapy, is a tale that unravels the puzzle in a troubled young mind. Kaira (Alia) is a young talented cinematographer who is professionally restless and personally unhappy. Flitting from one relationship to another, angry with her parents for no visible reason, she meets Jug (Shahrukh) a psychotherapist. Jug’s methods are unique. Though he appears a bit weird in the beginning, his warmth and wit transform Kaira from a reluctant patient to an eager one. Jug helps Kaira put together the strewn pieces of the puzzle of her life to help her understand the reasons for why she is what she is. He helps Kaira achieve clarity and peace with herself. Dear Zindagi was a step towards destigmatising mental issues.
